Course description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings.
Target audience
Existing or aspiring workers in industries who may require CPR training as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Entry requirements
None.
Award issued
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:
- HLTAID001 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Initial course duration
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:
- Mixed mode: Completion of pre-course study plus 2 hours practical training.
- Face to face: 3 hours face to face training.
Refresher course duration
- Mixed Mode: Completion pre-course study plus 1.5 hours practical training.
- Face to Face: 3 hours face to face training.
Important information regarding course durations
Course durations are based on group sizes of between 4 and 15 participants. Class sizes exceeding 15 participants may increase course duration depending on the number of participants.
Course study options
There are 2 different options for completing this course.
- Online training: All resources are online allowing you to complete with confidence the 24 multiple choice questions. After completing the online quiz book into the 2 hour practical session.
- Attend a 3 hour face to face training session: Inclusive of scenarios and 24 multiple choice question quiz.
